Some people like to wake up to the dawn. In the mornings they let the sun streaming through their windows wake them up, and they usually have a bright smile on their face as well. Others prefer to sleep in complete darkness, relying on an alarm to wake them up instead of rising with the sun, squinting at the sudden brightness.
If you are a person who likes complete darkness, your drapery and color schemes are very important when decorating your house. For some contrast, your color scheme should be mostly medium or light colors with the dark shades and accents popping out to provide interest. Dark navy, black, dark green, or deep purple are good drapery choices for you, as they keep the sun out the best.
During the day however, you need light in the house. Use a sheer fabric in a light beige, cream, or white as the under layer of your window dressings, so that you can pull back the dark layer and let the sun stream through the gauzy layer, while still having some privacy.
