Theater Rooms

Your friend just grabbed the popcorn from the microwave and your dog is keeping your spot on the sofa nice and warm. Now, it’s movie time!
Watching a movie at home is more affordable, comfortable and allows the option to click pause when you need a bathroom break. Your TV might be in the living room, bedroom or den, but the windows in your home most likely allow glare from the sun to enter your room. Reducing or preventing glare with the right window treatments can make all the difference, especially for a theater room! With our helpful tips, we can help you transform a normal room into a home theater for the best cinema experience.
First, decide whether you want to just reduce glare or completely block it out for a fully darkened theater room. For simply reducing glare, solar screen shades and semi-opaque cellular shades are good choices because they soften the light coming into the room which minimizes the glare. To completely darken a room, better options are

blackout draperies

or shades. Something to remember is that a solid shade or

drapery

will be more effective at reducing glare than blinds or shutters, where the light can easily pass through slats or holes.
For more flexibility, try layering your window treatments. A cellular shade paired with a room-darkening drapery gives you control over how much light you have in the room. Then you can use your room for everyday activities or as a theater room, depending on your needs.
We hope this information got you excited for designing a home theater in your home!
