White on white home design is a quickly rising trend. It is modern and sleek and minimalist, with the potential to be whimsical and beautiful, if done right. It works best in rooms with an abundance of natural light, and very few mirrors, if any at all.
1. Find a bunch of inexpensive, small glass vases and spray paint them white. Display them in a quirky arrangement on a nightstand, mantle, or tray in your favorite room.
2. Upholster an armchair in a white fabric with a pattern embroidered on it in white thread. Put the chair in your favorite reading nook with a tall, milk white floor lamp.
3. Layer your curtains. Start with a gauzy, sheer, snow white curtain and layer inwards. Each layer should get thicker and darker until you reach a semi-thick nearly cream colored curtain.
Each of these white-on-white decorating ideas is sure to make your home even more chic, clean, and trendy than it already is. And remember, if a completely white-on-white room is too daring for you, paint the walls an interesting color, but have all the furniture and most of the small accessories vary in shades of white only. This picture is a great example of the white on white curtains, and the throw pillows are a great example of white embroidery on white fabric.
