The Beauty of Pleated Drapes

Jan 05, 2012

Pleated drapes have been in the window dressing world for a long time, and yet they are still just as elegant as when they first became popular. They are a more traditional type of curtain and add elegance to the home that is difficult to replicate. The pleated draperies are very long and stop just shy of hitting the floor. The length and tendency of the pleated drapes to be curtain gives them an automatic expensive, traditional feel, even if they didn’t cost much.

With this traditional kind of drapery, be sure to keep the rest of your room along the same lines. Darker wood furniture is always elegant, and the color of the curtains themselves can match in elegance. If they are darker, warmer colors like mauve or brown they make the room more traditional and dark, but gorgeous. If they are a contrasting color, like light blue with a sheen, or pale green with gold tassels, the room will be lightened and seem bigger, but will still be elegant.
